This Sunday sees Champion jockey Douglas Whyte back in action after serving a two-day suspension.

Whether he wins or loses, the presence of Whyte at a race meeting always brings about a certain surge of excitement to even the dullest race card. Nothing against the other jockeys, but none have the drawing power of the Durban Demon.

On Sunday, he again teams up with Sean Woods and “Woody’s” All-weather winning galloper Jolly Good in Race 7. This combination won at their last start and there is no reason why they shouldn’t repeat this success.

Though he rides some very strong chances for trainer John Moore, this might even be the horse to give Whyte his 100th- or even winner 102- winner for the season with him already having sewn up his twelfth consecutive Jockeys Premiership- a phenomenal feat in anyone’s books.
