To those not familiar with racing terms, there is something called a “trump card.”
What this means- we think- is that a trainer can use his “trump card” to get one of his horses a run in a race.
Usually, this happens when a horse is primed and ready and this trump card is used to ensure that the horse gets a run and which always means that the trainer has high hopes for it.
Tomorrow at Happy Valley, Andreas Schutz uses his trump card to give Super Brother in Race 3 a chance to show off its best.
The popular trainer is having one of his best seasons ever and has always used his trump cards wisely.
In fact, he has used these so-called trump cards 11 times and which have resulted in them running into the first four placings.
Super Brother, with Matthew Chadwick aboard, backs up after winning over the same course and distance and with a trump card being used, it sure looks as if the smart German trainer might have another winner on his hands.
But, beware of Caspar Fownes’ Winsome with in-form Brett Prebble in the saddle.
